These cute little pops are perfect for Valentines day! With a simple cookie cutter you can transform everyday Rice Crispie treats into Yummy delish heart shaped Pops.
We started by following the recipe for Rice Crispy Treats that you can find on the back of a box of Rice Crispies, or even some bags of marshmellows.
We added X and O shaped sprinkles to the mixture at the very end.
Press the mixture onto a piece of wax paper using either a rubber spatula or another piece of wax paper. **CAUTION the mixture is HOT to not press it directly with your fingers or the hot sugar will stick to your hand and burn it!**
Once the treats have cooled cute them out using a heart shaped (or any other shape you would like) cookie cutter and push a candy stick through the bottom.
*Tip* hold the bottom of the heart in your hand when pressing the stick through to keep the heart from becoming deformed*
For a little something extra I melted some Red colored chocolate melts (the ones that you find at the craft store by the candy molds) and using a spoon drissled the chocolate over the top of the treats.
I had a LOT of left over treats that I couldn't cut into hearts so I tool these pieces and rolled them into balls, stuck a stick on one end then dipped it into the chocolate and covered it with sprinkles.
This could be adjusted for a fun treat for any holiday! I hope that you and your little ones enjoy making some heart treats!
Very cute! Might have to try these!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun activity to do with The Boy (he's 2.5) and loves to have a "project" to do. I think we'll make these for his friends.
