How To: Faux Gumball Machine

So I have been addicted to Pinterest the last few days.  I search, I pin, I search, I run to the store for supplies...And so on.

I saw pin about making your own Faux Gumball Machine, so I thought I would give it a try.

This is what my finished product looks like.

This project has a VERY low difficulty level.  The hardest part was gluing the bowl to the base.

Here is what you will need:
4" Terra Cotta Pot
4" Base to a Terra Cotta Pot
Small Fern Bowl (w/ little to no lip!)
Small wooden ball (with a flat base)
Paint
Hot Glue Gun
Hot Glue
Foam Brush

Start by prepping all of your pieces.  Remove all stickers from the pots and bowl.  This was probably the hardest part of the entire project!

Paint the pot, base and wooden ball with your desired paint color.  I chose black and because my pot was painted white already it took me three coats to cover it properly.

One the paint is dry using your hot glue gun, attach the wooden ball to the middle of the terra cotta base like below.

The lighting makes it look silver but it is black!  I promise!
Next comes the tricky part (for me anyway)  Using your hot glue gun, quickly run a bead of glue around the top of the upside down terry cotta pot and attach your glass bowl so that the open end is up! (hint: this is where your candy will go in so don't put it on upside down!)

You can stop at this point and fill with Candy.  This is what it would look like.

OR you can embellish with a ribbon.

Fill with Candy and Enjoy!

What would you fill your "candy" Machine with?
