I found out when I was 13 that I needed glasses. Unlike most kids my age I was actually kind of excited about the idea of getting eyeglasses. I remember going with my mom and picking out a pair of cute pink frames and being super excited about it all.
As I got older the thought of having to shop for glasses became less fun and more of a chore. It was bad enough to have to sit through and exam but then I would have to weed through about 500 pairs of sunglasses, all the while being watched over like a hawk buy some over zealous sales person, that just wants to get me into a pair of glasses and move on to the next person.
