So in the world of modern cloth diapering we are left with hundreds and hundreds of options. Pockets, AI2, wool covers, PUL covers. Cloth Diapers have definitely come a LONG way!
But ask your grandma and probably even your mom what they think of when they hear the words cloth diaper what they think of, and they will probably tell you a large square of cotton fabric that you put on with pins.
When I started cloth diapering with my 3rd baby I was certain was petrified of the idea of using a flat or prefold on my baby. I just didn't think I could do it. Little did I know that not only would I love prefolds, but also how versatile the could be!
OsoCozy offers a wide variety of flats, prefolds, fitteds, and All In One diapers. They have something for every budget and need!
I chose to review the Unbleached Organic Prefolds and doublers.
One of the things that I was surprised about when I ordered these diapers was not only did they come in a 3 sizes, preemie, infant and regular, but they also come in two different lengths with in the infant and regular sizes.
They offer a Traditional Prefold, which in the Regular size measures 21" long, while in the Better Fit size they are only 16.5" long. I have really been loving the Better Fit diapers. Since I have a SUPER heavy wetter I have been using them as a wrap around a microfibre insert with a doubler at night and it has been working great!
The Better Fit diapers are designed shorter to fit better into covers or AI2 and Pocket diapers. They don't have to be folded shorter so they aren't as bulky.
One of the things that concerned me when I took the jump to prefolds, was how easy they would be to use. I was worried that it was going to be a struggle. I have an extreme squirmier and sometimes even putting a pocket diaper on can be difficult.
OsoCozy's were very easy to use. My favorite way to use the diapers is laid in with a doubler into a cover. I fold the Better Fits into thirds and with a doubler inside and just lay it in. This works GREAT for naps and long car rides with NO leaks.
Prefolds are one of the MOST affordable cloth diapering solutions available! OsoCozy Prefolds and other great OsoCozy Options can be found at www.clothdiaper.com. They range from $3.75-$6! You can't beat that!
The folks at OsoCozy have been generous enough to offer a set of 6 prefolds and two doublers to one of my lucky readers! Sorry momma's but you have to be in the LOWER 48 states to enter this one.

ReplyDeleteI love Osocozy!! I have a set of their flats and a set of prefolds and both are great. I fold my osocozy prefolds up and put them in my pocket diapers with a hemp doubler under and it lasts a really long time!

ReplyDeleteHave been slowly using flats - but I cheat and just lay them in a cover or use them in place of MF inserts. Haven't attempted to actually fold them yet.

We used prefolds and cover when our little man was too tiny to fit in his OS pockets. Seems like 100 years ago :) -Sharon M

ReplyDeleteI have used receiving blankets as flats. I also like using prefolds.
ReplyDeleteOnly once did I use a really old cotton prefold (my mom saved them from when I was a baby) with my Thirsties cover. So this would be almost my first time using flats.
